Come da previsioni, questi Emmy 2024 sono stati dominati dai due colossi Disney Shōgun e The Bear. Le due serie hanno fatto incetta di premi in quasi tutte le categorie principali, lasciando solamente le briciole a colossi come The Crown e Only Murders in the Building. Lo show sul Giappone feudale segna anche un importante record degli Emmy, diventando la prima serie non in lingua inglese a vincere il premio come miglior serie drammatica. Ha lasciato però tutti di stucco la vittoria di Hacks come miglior serie commedia, levando all’ultimo la statuetta che The Bear sembrava già stringere nelle proprie mani. Grande sorprese nelle categorie destinate alle miniserie, dove le previsioni vedevano per favorita Ripley, invece largamente battuta da Baby Reindeer.
